It is a busy couple of weeks for fifteen-year-old Christian Weir as he will find himself back behind the wheel of an MDK Motorsports prepared Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 at the Ozarks International Raceway this weekend. Taking part in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America program, Weir will look to add to his results resume after scoring a podium finish in his debut in the series a few weeks ago.
“The Ozarks facility is brand new and one that I have been looking forward to racing at since seeing some of the facility photos,” explained Weir. “It will be a big difference from the bumpy Sebring International Raceway track where I made my Porsche debut and earned my first podium in the series.”
Learning a lot in his Porsche debut weekend, Weir clocked some of the fastest laps of the event and battled drivers with many more years of experience. Learning with each passing lap and gaining knowledge in both wet and dry conditions, the experience curve for Weir was advanced as ever and now he will look to put that newfound knowhow to good use.
Weir continued, “My full focus is on this weekend and the MDK Motorsport program but as soon as the checkered flag flies, it will shift to next weekend. It will be a busy two weeks as right after we leave the Ozarks, I will head to the Barber Motorsports Park for the second event weekend of the USF2000 Championship. I am hoping that I will be able to add back-to-back wins in back-to-back weekends in two different series on two different tracks.”
Christian Weir would like to thank all his 2022 partners for their continued support. A huge shoutout to Ferguson, ProFlow, eComfort and Motorcars of Palm Beach. A huge thank you to both MDK Motorsports and Turn 3 Motorsport for all the help and support in running a dual series program.
