Leveling up from the USF2000 program to USF Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires championship, Illinois resident Christian Weir will join the Championship-winning TJ Speed program for 2023. A podium winner in the USF2000 series last season, Weir continues to ascend the USF Pro Championships ladder program.
“I am excited to join TJ Speed in 2023 and thank Tim and his entire staff for the opportunity,” expressed Weir. “In the end, the ultimate goal is to be a professional in motorsports, and I think the TJ Speed program allows me to continue that path.”
“We welcome Christian to the TJ Speed family, and we are expecting big things from him this upcoming season,” explained Tim Neff. “Christian performed well in USF2000, but I am confident that with our experience, knowledge, and driver development efforts, we will be able to further harness his abilities and better his results this coming year.”
Earning back-to-back FR Americas Team and Driver Championships in 2021 and 2022, TJ Speed will enter the USF Pro Championships in 2023. Acquiring assets and intellectual property from a former front-running program, TJ Speed fully intends to fight for race wins, podium results, and another championship this coming season.
Neff added, “This is not a hobby for us as I look to add to our team’s results resume. Christian is the perfect fit for our program and that is noted just from his time spent at the shop. He is precise about what he wants and determined more than most. I think he will be a success story next year.”
With track knowledge of the USF Pro Championship courses, Weir will look to use that to his advantage when the green flag flies next March at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
Stay tuned for more driver announcements from TJ Speed in the coming weeks.
